IPMA International Expert Seminars
The International Expert Seminars of IPMA started in the Seventies and were held every year in the Eighties at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute (GDI) near Zurich.
In 2008, IPMA and spm decided to revive this kind of competence development event for the project management experts. No other product including teleconferencing and collaborative work on a platform could replace the discussions in our groups.
The IPMA International Expert Seminar is aimed at anyone who deals with project, programme or portfolio management. The seminar is addressed to experienced project managers, line managers, trainers and scientists who wish to be up to date and competent in project management.
A mayor advancement in project, programme and portfolio management during the recent years is to give a higher attention to the behavioural competences. The attitude of keeping these competences outside the project management discipline or to consider them as something taking place after the working hours is hard to maintain. A professional way of dealing with this competence range is expected from the project, programme and portfolio managers.
The 2009 IPMA Expert-Seminar will make a contribution to understanding how project management competence and success can be achieved. In particular the influence and management of the behavioural and contextual competences shall be addressed and integrated in the assessment system. Experts from various sectors of the economy and university departments as well as different cultural and religious backgrounds will discuss the topic and develop solutions based on various case studies, research results and theories.
